MEET JASON MURILLO

Jason Murillo, known as "DJ Loudmouth," is a lifelong resident of Manhattan's Lower East Side and East Village, with over 35 years in the community. A product of NYCHA public housing, he understands the challenges faced by residents and is running for New York City Council in District 2 to address them. As a small business owner, entrepreneur, community organizer, and award-winning television, radio, and music producer, Murillo has a strong background in advocacy and activism, focusing on unity and support for marginalized groups, including public housing residents, on public assistance, and the unemployed. His campaign prioritizes a Quality of Life and Law and Order agenda, while stopping the Radical Socialist Left from destroying our District and City, including:

• Safeguarding NYCHA & Affordable Housing and addressing homelessness with housing solutions.
• Re-funding the NYPD and Our First Responders to increase police presence for public safety, implementing law and order reforms, such as ending cashless bail and supporting Priscilla's Law to regulate e-bikes, and addressing quality of life issues head-on, reducing the number of migrant shelters in the district, illegal smoke shops, and closing open use drug clinics.
• Protecting Small Businesses and struggling hard-working New Yorkers and their families through targeted initiatives.
• Restoring Public Trust through transparency and accountability and rooting out WASTE, FRAUD, AND ABUSE of taxpayers' money and Government spending.
• Reinstate and Compensate Individuals who have been wrongfully terminated are either restored to their previous position (reinstated) or provided with financial compensation (back pay, lost benefits, etc.) for the harm caused by the termination.
• End Forced Guardianship for Seniors in nursing homes and ensure the rights of all seniors and our loved ones are protected.

Jason has collaborated and worked with many organizations throughout the decades such as Community Access, Manhattan Neighborhood Network, Bric TV, BronxNet, Henry Street Settlement, Grand Street Settlement, BGR, The Boys and Girls Club of NY, PAL, Nuyorican Poets Cafe, among many others and currently works with Devil Dog USA Inc. & Vero G. Productions to support families, at risk teens, and veterans returning home. He has also organized rallies around the city to keep Mount Sinai Beth Israel Hospital open, fighting against RAD PACT Takeover of Jacob Riis & Fulton Chelsea Houses, neglect of tenant rights & eviction, led legal assistance to tenants in need, highlighting his commitment to Accessible Healthcare & Housing Justice.

My Message to the Voters of District 2

I'm running as a Moderate Common Sense Republican for New York City Council District 2. I seek to advocate for public housing, disability services, and community support through my grassroots movement. Those who feel left behind by no-show politicians and destructive policies that have crippled District 2 and New York City are encouraged to join me in bringing change to City Hall and putting community and People first!

Our city, our home, our vibrant District 2, has a choice. For too long, politicians at City Hall have pushed policies that have torn at the fabric of our communities. They’ve watched hospitals close, turned a blind eye to the struggles of NYCHA residents, and allowed open drug use to fester in our parks and public spaces. Hard-working New Yorkers and small business owners—our neighbors, our friends—are being crushed under record-high rents, crippling taxes, suffocating regulations, and a tidal wave of crime that seems to go unchecked.

Is this the New York we want to live in?

Is this the District 2 we cherish? A place where our safety, our livelihoods, and our future are sacrificed to appease an agenda that has sold out our communities?

The answer is no. And the time for change is now.

On November 4th, you have the power to take back our city. You have the power to demand a City Council that fights for all of us—not just the loudest voices or the most connected elites. Jason Murillo is the leader we need—a leader who will stand up for common-sense values, for economic opportunity, and for the heart and soul of District 2.
